Chef Momo
At sixteen, Momo left Morocco with only a dream, arriving in Como so poor he slept on a bench with just a loaf of bread. He began washing dishes, trained for years under a master chef, and one day stepped in for a sick pizza chef — customers never looked back. Denied a loan as a young immigrant, he borrowed a tiny shop day by day until lines stretched down the street. That humble window grew into a beloved restaurant with a famous patio, a Como institution for 25 years.
A Love Story That Crossed Continents
On a chance evening in Milan, Sarika crossed paths with Chef Momo — and everything changed. What began as a fleeting encounter between strangers blossomed into a love story that stretched across continents, patient and unwavering through the distance. In time, that love brought Chef Momo across the world, from the shores of Lake Como to Redwood City, where he opened Pizzeria Cardamomo.

What our guests are saying
They make superb pizza with a thin crust and red sauce. Lot of topping choices both veggies or meat. Fresh baked bread goes well with wine and arugula salad. Classic tiramisu was simply excellent 👌🏼

Been meaning to check out this spot for a while and I’m so glad I finally did. The food was amazing, ambience was cozy, and the wine was great. They make sure to tell you about the owner’s story which is cool and sets the authentic experience. Highly recommend to try both their garlic and spicy olive oils. Pizzas were very delicious so I’ll be back to try their pastas next time. I cannot emphasize enough how tasty the jambon (ham) was so make sure to try a pizza that has it! The cannolis were average but no complaints.

Interesting choice of delicious pizzas. The team is very attentive and the place looks great. Perfect restaurant to invite guests, the table set-up with white tablecloths and fabric napkins is rare enough to appreciate.
